This interlocking tea table was a custom commission for a client who wanted to match it with a very unique chair, upholstered in a vibrant, colorful, and irreplaceable fabric. The client provided a small tear from the fabric, and I used it to recreate the pattern as a precise vector design with the exact colors. I printed the design on 4mm Foamex for durability.
I engineered the table to be disassemblable without the need for nails or screws. To ensure the design worked seamlessly, I first created a 1:10 scale model. Once tested, I laser-cut the full-sized pieces from 19mm MDF panels, lacquered them for a polished finish, and added a custom oval glass top to protect the decoration.
The client was thrilled with the result and even sent me a picture of the table paired with the chair—it was a perfect match!
